Search engines that actually search what
your looking for.
In
order to find what your looking for you must find the masters of search
and rescue!
Here
are some search engines that worked for me, use them! Searching is easy
if you
have
the right tools!
w
Ask is a meta search that I found to be most user-friendly
w
Altavista
lets you search in a specific language, and
is the biggest and most efficiant search
engine
w
Lycos
also lets you search in a specific language
w
Excite
gives you the best information on sports teams, cities, companies, etc

How to use a search engine with ULTIMATE EFFICIENCY!
w Try not to
guess the URL (website address) if your looking for a specific subject,
using a search
engine is way better. Its like using a table for a surfboard: "Its just
not EFFICIENT"
w Start out
simple; Typing "find me the best
deals I can get at safeway for tomorrow"
in
a yahoo search
engine won't get you the great bargains you've been waiting all month for.
Instead start out
with "savings+safeway"
w
"Phrase searching" is best if you started out simple first!
w
Try to add or eliminate words in your search; example-> adding "and
not sluts" from your search
(in some cases)
will eliminate hundreds if not thousands of sites that you DON'T need.
w
Practice and don't be afraid to use the computer! The more you use it the
better you'll
understand how
it works and how to make it work harder for you!
How to evaluate that web site you just found.
w
Who made the page in the first place?
Having junk on
the web is frequent these days you might want
to have most of
your information from a reliable source!
w Check the
content for accuracy; spelling errors, facts,
resources, etc.
w And check
the main topic of the sight. You might have
non-related junk
on the sight.
These are only some guidelines to a great webpage...but most of all, you can tell a great webpage from a boring one from the interpretation of its content. Being too scientific is just plain boring!
